Mutiny Within: Synchronicity

Power metal and metalcore. A match made in heaven!
Don’t worry, it’s not that terrible! – but I don’t know, something about this As I Lay Dying clone band makes me think of power metal. I guess it’s somehow related to the constant melodic overtones over the super-triggered drums on 11, and the singer guy putting his main effort into cleans, only deviating into those typical scream RUAWHUAWHUA vocals at select times. And maybe it’s that fantastically boring album cover that reminds me strongly of Masterplan with their “epic” golden style.
Maybe this is an attempt at a younger take on the genre of
thinning hair, pirate bandanas and bulging bellies, who knows? Well
they certainly try to impress with a shitload of melodic riffing paired
with the usual chug and “emotion-laden” lyrics.
And with posing like the grown-ups.
Yeah, you can definitely tell that the music leaves little for me to
talk about when I start digging up band pictures on metal-archives.
There is nothing WRONG with it, but what it
comes down to: this is a melodic metalcore band, goddamnit. If that’s
your favorite genre, then hunt this down for a fresh breath of air – I
know you need it.
If not, well, the cover art is quite a good depiction.
